6 week course of lectures for beginners

• Introduction to Beekeeping
• Overview of beekeeping equipment and types of bees
• Lifecycle of the honeybee, bumblebee and wasp
• The Beekeeping Year: from swarming to honey harvest
• Extraction, straining, jarring and labelling of honey
• Products of the hive and their medicinal uses, stings, allergies and bee diseases

Wednesday Evenings at 7.30pm at Doonfoot Primary School, Alloway, Ayr.

Course fee £25  (includes membership of Ayr & District Beekeepers' Association for one year).
